Diphtheria Disease Mortality United States, 1900-1990


In this national data graph, we observe that the number of Americans dying from diphtheria declined to basically zero starting in 1940, and then the diphtheria vaccine was introduced seven years later. Good engineering, sanitation, and the like reduced disease mortality across the population, even though pharma tries to give its vaccine the credit.
